How long does the GIP take and what does it cost?
EDB states approximately 12 months to process a complete application, subject to due diligence, with a non-refundable S$20,000 application fee. ICA formalisation fees are separate.
The Global Investor Programme (GIP) is an Economic Development Board programme through which qualifying investors may apply for Singapore permanent residence under specified business and investment criteria.
GIP is designed for eligible established business owners, next-generation business owners, founders of fast-growth companies and family-office principals who meet the current factsheet criteria.
The programme offers specified investment options involving a Singapore business, an approved fund or a Singapore-based single family office structure.
Applicants must satisfy both their profile category and the selected investment option; transferring funds alone is not the whole eligibility test.
EDB administers the GIP process and ICA grants PR status after applicable requirements and formalities are met.
Current thresholds and documentary requirements should be checked in EDB's latest factsheet.
EDB's GIP offers three options. Option A is at least S$10 million in a new or expanded Singapore business. Option B is S$25 million in a GIP-select fund. Option C is a Singapore single family office managing at least S$200 million, with at least S$50 million transferred and held in Singapore during the approval-in-principle stage and deployed in specified investments within 12 months after final approval.
Applicants submit forms and evidence, attend an EDB interview and, if successful, meet the investment and verification conditions within a six-month approval-in-principle window before final approval and PR formalities.

A spouse and unmarried children below 21 at submission may be included as dependants; male children who obtain PR as dependants are NS-liable. Parents and unmarried children aged 21 or above cannot be included for PR under the GIP and may apply for an LTVP tied to the main applicant.
The first Re-Entry Permit is valid for five years. Renewal depends on the investment option and EDB's economic or residence conditions.
Singapore does not publish a citizenship-by-investment programme. The GIP is a PR route. A GIP PR who later applies for citizenship uses ICA's citizenship process and is assessed under the applicable criteria; the investment does not guarantee approval or create an automatic timetable.
