Process Guide

What happens after you submit a
Singapore PR application?

ICA sends an acknowledgement after a successful e-PR submission. ICA says applications are generally processed within six months when all required documents are submitted, although some cases take longer.

What ICA does during review

  • Verifies the submitted documents and declared information
  • Assesses the application holistically using factors published on its PR page
  • May request additional documents or clarification during the review period
  • May take longer than the general processing guidance depending on the case

What applicants can and cannot do

  • You can check the application status through ICA's e-Service
  • You can use ICA's online update function for specified changes such as address, employment or marital status
  • You can submit requested or relevant additional documents through ICA's stated channel
  • You should keep copies of every update and respond by any deadline ICA provides

How the outcome is communicated

ICA communicates the outcome through its official channels. An approval-in-principle contains the completion instructions. A rejection should be reviewed against the submitted file without inventing an undisclosed ICA score or reason.

ICA allows an online appeal within 12 months of the rejection letter with new or updated information or documents. A fresh application is a separate route, for which ICA does not publish a universal mandatory waiting period. Follow the applicable submission instructions and avoid repeating an unchanged file.

Keep the pending application current

Save the acknowledgement, submitted forms and uploaded records. If employment, address, marriage or other material particulars change, use ICA's update process and provide evidence in the format requested. Do not assume a pending application is frozen when ICA provides a channel for specified updates.
